tofu scramble

 

INGREDIENTS

 
 

1 block firm tofu

1 tbsp oil

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp ground turmeric

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tbsp tahini

1/2 cup plant-based milk

2 tbsp nutritional yeast, optional

1/2 tsp kala namak (also called black salt), optional

salt and black pepper to taste

 

 METHOD

 
  1. Drain and squeeze all water out of tofu.

  2. Crumble into bite-sized chunks with your hands.

  3. Heat oil in frying pan, add tofu chunks.

  4. Stir occasionally, but allow the exteriors to get slightly browned.

  5. Meanwhile, whisk together the rest of the ingredients except the kala namak.

  6. Fold the sauce into the frying pan and continue frying until the tofu is the desired consistency.

  7. Sprinkle with kala namak, salt, and pepper before serving.
